The student population at the Prince George’s Community College was growing at an explosive rate. By necessity, the College initiated a capital project to renovate and expand the Student Services Building to address the tremendous volume of registration and counseling transactions triggered by this growth.
Composing the operations of 14 separate divisions within the Student Services Department of a large Community College into a workable design solution required exceptional architectural talents coupled with diplomatic people skills. The programming team at Gant Brunnett Architects collaborated with the College in order to successfully navigate the maze of priorities and staff issues necessary to deliver an effective design solution for the new Student Services Center. Advanced technology was a key element incorporated into the design in order to streamline the registration process and reduce operational costs. The architecture crafted by the project team also serves an important role as one of the main gateways to the campus.
