Home to Triple Crown Winners "Galant Fox" and "Omaha". Restored as a Museum for Horse lovers and history enthusiasts.
There’s no community in the country more dedicated to the preservation of their historic structures than the City of Bowie, Maryland. The Belair estate is the Birthplace of thoroughbred horse racing in America. From the time when the first thoroughbreds were brought over from England by Provincial Governor Samuel Ogle in 1747, to the point when the farmstead was donated to the citizens of Bowie, the Belair estate has played an important role in local history.
GBA was privileged to participate as Project Architects in the restoration of the Belair Stable Museum, which now provides the public with a glimpse into the rich history of horse racing in Maryland.
